OPC Accessibility & Drop-Off Tips
The OPC campus is designed to be open, welcoming, and accessible. Use this guide to understand mobility routes, drop-off locations, stroller access, and on-the-ground navigation tips for a smooth visit.
Accessible Entrances
The Obama Presidential Center will feature multiple accessible entry points along Stony Island Avenue and the Midway Plaisance. Entrances are wide, ramp-supported, and designed to accommodate wheelchairs, mobility devices, and strollers.
Drop-Off Zones
Primary drop-off zones will be located along Stony Island Avenue near the north entrance. These areas are designed for easy loading and unloading, with clear signage and staff support during peak visitor hours.
Mobility-Friendly Routes from Hyde Park
Visitors needing accessible routes will find the smoothest paths along the Midway Plaisance and Hyde Park Boulevard. Both routes provide wide walkways, gradual grades, and clear ramps leading toward Jackson Park and the OPC campus.
Stroller Access
Strollers are allowed throughout the OPC grounds. Most walkways are paved and level, making it easy for families with young children to move between the museum spaces, gardens, and lakeside paths.
Wayfinding & Visitor Assistance
Directional signage, staffed information points, and mobile-friendly maps will support visitors as they navigate the OPC. Assistance is available at all main entrances for guests who need additional help or guidance.
